There’s a God-shaped void in your life.

You’ve felt that void on your Monday morning commute to work. Or when you’ve achieved the ultimate dream of your life and were surprised by how empty it left you. Thoreau described it as “the mass of men living lives of quiet desperation.”

That’s your soul talking to you.

You soul longs to find its ultimate purpose. It will not rest until you do.

The Void

Your soul is letting you know you come from God and your life is intended to be God-inspired. You’re a unique creation made by God to live and not simply exist.

From your first breath you’ve been on a journey, and a significant part of it has been a search for meaning.

Contrary to what you’ve been led to believe, God is not put off by your questions or your doubts about His existence. You were made with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge – not for information, but for purpose.

Without a sense of purpose you will begin to die a slow death. Hope, and faith are the first steps towards a life of meaning.

Real Hope

Draw three vertical circles. The top circle is the void.

The journey to fill the void begins with hope. Hope is not wishful thinking. Hope is the confident expectation of future good.

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live even though he dies.” Real hope begins when you believe Jesus. You gain from Jesus a confident expectation of future good.

New Life

Fill in a portion of your second circle. To trust Jesus you need to know that He loves you and died for you without condition. Believing on Jesus as your Savior gives you new life. Not a better life, a new, forgiven, eternal life.

Living out this life by faith is a process – a journey. There will be ups and down but not in’s and out’s. Jesus promises He will never leave you.

Lasting Purpose

Fill in your third circle completely. Your purpose is to love yourself and others. To love your enemies. Really.

To love is to be kind, patient, keep no record of wrongs, expect the best in others, bear with others, encourage others. And more.

When you love, life works. Faith, hope and love are the greatest. And the greatest of the greatest is love because love lasts beyond death.

APPLICATION: Nothing satisfies like real hope, new life and lasting purpose. We can help you with that at North Pointe.
