FREE MOBILE BIBLE READING PLAN FOR 2016

bible 20162

The Bible is worth reading.

I’ve read hundreds of books – fiction and non-fiction – the Bible has the most enduring impact on my life.

In 2016 I’ll read through the Bible…again.

“Pastor, don’t you get tired of reading the same verses year after year?”

That’s one reason I read through the Bible each year – the verses don’t get boring because I tend to forget them.

The impact of the Bible is how the same verses and familiar stories can speak to me freshly in the moment I am experiencing.

They can do the same for you – that’s why I hope you’ll follow our Reading Plan for 2016.

Digging Deeper Daily

We’ve picked out a Bible reading plan on YouVersion that is FREE and downloadable to your smart phone. You can READ the verses yourself or LISTEN to them or both.

The Digging Deeper Daily plan will help you be successful in reading the whole Bible in one year.

The unique order of the readings— together with the brief devotional notes – will help you see the various threads that unify the message of the Old and the New Testaments.

This book of Genesis tells us what God wants us to know about the beginning of our world, the beginning of sin, mankind’s rebellion against God, and who God and Satan are.

Job is the oldest book of the Bible with Job being a contemporary of Abraham. Readers would expect an early book to end with a neat answer that sums up the author’s opinion or for a debate where the hero is totally right and the other speakers are clearly wrong. Instead, all the human speakers in the book of Job mix truth and error.

It is a mark of inspiration that Job leaves us still searching for some answers.

Mark is the shortest of the four Gospels and filled with the most miracles.

I will be reading through the Bible once again in 2016. I was going to read it cover to cover which I have done before. After taking a brief look at the Dig Deeper Daily reading plan I am going to do that instead. It looks to be great reading plan. I have also read through the Bible Handbook which included a reading plan. There are many ways to read the Bible and they are all good. Reading the Bible is worth it and it changes your life. It is not boring and I never get tired of it.

Just a side note, in 2015, I read Psalm 91 aloud every morning. At the beginning of the year, I read and heard of others who did this and of how it helped them. Now I know for myself how powerful Psalm 91 is. No matter what was going on I read aloud Psalm 91 each and every morning in 2015. I don’t have it memorized but am very familiar with it. It is packed with God’s promises. I would say it has changed my life. I used to struggle so much and get overwhelmed so easily. This rarely happens anymore. When it does I get over it quicker. This is the power of God’s Word. It’s living and active.

Psalm 91 is such an uplifting Psalm. You may have heard Garry Lefebvre quote some of that Psalm back in November in our Sunday services. Happy New Year to you!
